Skeeter boats was the first ever boat manufacturers to construct a bass boat. It has been sixty years since they first built a boat, the first bass boat, and they have been evolving since, surpassing their own limits and always growing to best suit the needs of the fishers.
Holmes Thurmond was the first to design and build a boat for the skeeter company. It was this boat with which the Skeeter Company began. The first boat was launched in 1948. Later, in 1961, they built the first ever fiberglass bass boat. This fiberglass gave the boats much more durability and efficiency than any boat built before.
