Jigging is a type of fishing strategy wherein the angler uses a jig to catch fishes. There are several models of fishing rods in the industry that are perfect for butterfly jigging. Among these are Shimano Trevala and other models of fishing rods from Shimano. When jigging the lure for the fishes moves with vertical jerky or zigzag motions through the seas instead of the usual horizontal bobbing of most bait or lures. The jig or lure of jigging rods, such as the Shimano Trevala Jigging Rods, is crafted from lead sinker. This is the reason why a butterfly jig is sometimes called “leadhead.” Shimano Trevala jigs, as with other jigging rods, have one molded hook at the end to trap fishes. This hook is covered or hidden with a soft body that has a bright color, in order to attract or lure the fishes. Shimano Trevala jigs can be used for both freshwater and saltwater fishing.
